Recycled cottons fabrics
Since 2024, fabrics made from recycled cotton have been available. They are used in industry for applications such as manufacturing pouches and bags.
However, manufacturers cannot yet guarantee long-term stability in the composition of these fabrics.
The main challenge lies in sorting old textiles: while separating cotton from synthetic fibers is relatively straightforward, separating polyester fabrics is far more complex, even impossible, due to the wide variety of existing qualities.
Créabox offers recycled fabrics referred to as “recycled cotton”, but these are often a blend of recycled cotton, recycled polyester, and new polyester.
The proportions of each fiber type may vary depending on the production batch, for the reasons mentioned above.
